NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen held a public lecture in Tallinn

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen was in Estonia for a working visit from 19-20 January and held a public lecture in Tallinn University on January 19th. He met with President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet, and Minister of Defence Mart Laar.

Topics to discussed during the visit were preparations for the NATO summit in Chicago, which included discussions about the NATO air policing mission in the Baltic states, developments in the NATO Cyber Defence Centre, NATO’s activities in Afghanistan, and NATO-Russia relations.

The NATO secretary general  gave a lecture in English at Tallinn University entitled “NATO’s Baltic Allies: Punching Above Their Weight”. During his visit, Anders Fogh Rasmussen also visited the NATO Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.
