The Estonian Atlantic Treaty Association announces the start of the NATO 70/Eesti 15 creative contest! This project is sponsored by the Estonian Ministry of Defence, NATO’s Allied Rapid Reaction Corps and the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research.
“70 years of NATO and 15 in Estonia— Create and Share Your Video and Make Your Contribution to Defence Education”
Hey there! If you’re between 16 and 19 years old, speaking Estonian or Russian and living in Estonia, get together some friends (in teams of 2-4 people, including an advisor, perhaps your State Defense teacher) and put together a 1-5 minute video (in your choice of Estonian, Russian, or English) on the topic of NATO and defence education. Now is your chance to learn new facts about NATO and its activities—while sharing them with others! Please add a title to your video, upload it to Youtube or any similar cloud service (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer etc.) and send the link to your video to firstname.lastname@example.org by 31 January 2019 at latest.
As mentioned, the top 4 teams will win the grand award of a trip to the United Kingdom in summer 2019 to visit NATO’s Allied Rapid Reaction Corps. The top 5 videos will be published on the Estonian Atlantic Treaty Association’s YouTube page and will be shared both with NATO HQ’s Public Diplomacy Division as well as all high schools in Estonia—and will form part of the class materials on the topic of Estonia’s accession to NATO 15 years ago, as well as the celebration of the 70th birthday of the Alliance. These videos will also be shown at a public event celebrating the 70th birthday of NATO on March 29 at Kalev Sports Hall in Tallinn. Other awards include a visit by Allied soldiers to your school or field trips to NATO base at Tapa or Ämari.
